Bar 414 pays homage to the rich history of the Gunter Hotel and to Robert Johnson with prohibition era cocktails stirred with house-made ingredients and bootleg spirits. Bar 414 offers live music, discreet libations and delta blues within a speakeasy ambiance.
Robert Johnson - King of the Blues - recorded the majority of his compositions in Room 414 of the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio in November of 1936. Over three sessions, Johnson recorded sixteen tracks including: "I Believe I’ll Dust My Broom," "Sweet Home Chicago," "Terraplane Blues," and the legendary "Cross Road Blues" (famously covered by Eric Clapton, Cream).
Johnson was one of the first inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall of fame and was later honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
